I really can't wrap my head around why JapanHaul gets such a bad rap. They offer Japanese goods at some of the lowest prices around, and they pack your orders in a creative way. Plus, their shipping costs are pretty reasonable for everyone. So why the negative reviews? Sure, shipping can take a while, but that's mainly because Japanese Post has cut back on flights due to the pandemic, so it's not really JapanHaul's fault. I placed four orders before the pandemic hit (from July 2019 to February 2020), and I always opted for the cheapest shipping. Those orders arrived in just about two weeks! Unfortunately, I can't place orders now since Japan Post isn't delivering to my country because of the pandemic. However, I did order through my Dubai mailbox (POBOX) a month ago, and I'm still waiting for it to show up. Once it arrives, I’ll reconsider my rating, but I doubt it’ll change much. My only gripe is the lack of a DHL express shipping option for all countries. UPDATE: My package finally got here on 13/8/2022 (the shipping took 48 days from Japan to my house via POBOX). Even with that wait, it arrived in a month and a half, which I think is pretty decent, especially since this was my first order during the pandemic and my fifth overall. But here's the kicker! The box was in terrible shape and even opened. Not sure if that was Japan Post's doing or my POBOX's fault. So, while the packaging experience was a letdown, the value, contents, and quality were solid. I’d give it a 3 out of 5.

I placed an order back in October 2021, totally forgot about it, and now here we are at the end of March 2022... FIVE MONTHS LATER. FIVE MONTHS FOR A FEW SNACKS.

The only reason this order popped back into my mind is 'cause I made the silly choice to buy something else from JapanHaul and got an email months down the line asking me to review items I NEVER GOT IN THE FIRST PLACE. So, I went back to check my orders, hoping to find some info on shipping or even a tiny clue about where my packages might be, and that’s when I noticed there was an order from LAST YEAR THAT I NEVER RECEIVED EITHER.

Up to now, I’ve placed three orders, with the first one arriving a month later, so I thought, "Alright, at least one came through, maybe JapanHaul is legit."

BOY, WAS I MISTAKEN.

Seriously, if you’re in the US, steer clear of JapanHaul. They don’t provide tracking numbers, communication is nearly nonexistent, and honestly, it’s super pricey with hardly anything to back up the cost.

EDIT: Just to make it clear, I double-checked the address, so it should’ve been sent to the right place.

Right now, I'm stuck trying to get my money back. I've had to go through my bank to dispute the charge and let Japan Haul know about it. They seriously need to come up with a refund policy or improve their shipping methods. I've lost $60 for more than a month due to their poor business practices. I wouldn't recommend buying from them until they step up their game. I’ll keep you posted if I ever see my refund. It's just absurd.

UPDATE 10/28: I had to file a dispute with PayPal just to get my money back. If you haven't done this yet, PayPal lets you present your case and then the company can respond. Japan Haul provided a FAKE tracking number as their excuse. “EN136236139JP, Japan Post” and that was it. No surprise PayPal ruled in my favor. This company is a total scam. Cashapp even made me switch my card because of this.

I'm thankful for the assistance and friendly service I got when I messed up; it was sorted out in no time. I'm truly loving the Japanese food boxes arriving at my place every month and have shared with all my friends how much I adore them. Thanks a bunch!

This is some of the finest customer service I've come across. They even included a paper to help you check and confirm that you received all your items. The food prices are super low, and the shipping is great too.

I gotta say, the quality is top-notch, but it does cost a bit more. You might find it cheaper in other places, but if you're okay with spending a little extra, this is definitely worth it. Also, the shipping was super quick!
